Ashburton Investments (clone) (Tom Zambon) - Warnung FSCA South Africa - 2019-Nov-19

FSCA Press Release 20 November 2019

FSCA warns the public against Mr Tom Zambon

The Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) warns the public against doing any
financial services related business with Mr Tom Zambon. It was brought to the attention of
the FSCA that Mr. Zambon may be running a fraudulent social media campaign and is
using social media to solicit monies from the members of the public. Mr. Zambon purports
to be "from Ashburton Investments " and produces documentation bearing the name of
Ashburton Investments. Ashburton Investments confirms that it has no knowledge of Mr
Zambon and have no association with him.

According to the FSCA’s records, Mr Tom Zambon is not an authorised financial services
provider (FSP), is not a representative of an authorised FSP and there is no record of an
application to become an authorised FSP with the FSCA. Therefore, Mr. Zarbon is not
authorised to render financial services as contemplated in the Financial Advisory and
Intermediary Act (FAIS Act).

Members of the public should always check that an entity or individual is registered with
the FSCA to provide Financial Advisory & Intermediary Services and what category of
advice it is that the entity is registered to provide. There are instances where persons are
registered to provide basic advisory services for a low risk product and then offer services
of a far more complex and risky nature. They can check with the FSCA on either the toll
free number (0800 203 722) or on the website www.fsca.co.za as to whether or not such
institution or person is authorised to render financial services as well as for which
services they are authorised.
