Imposter Posing as DBO Licensee Benchmark Mortgage & Branch Manager Cory DePass

The Department of Business Oversight (DBO) has been notified that an individual using the phone number 650-735-2112 and email address corey.benchmark@gmail.com is representing himself as a licensed representative of the licensed lender "Benchmark Mortgage, " a DBA of Ark-La-Tex Financial Services. Cory DePass is the licensed branch manager of the Benchmark Mortgage branch in Aliso Viejo, California. The imposter answers the phone as "Cory DePass, Benchmark, " but spells "Corey " with an "e " in his email address. This unlicensed individual should not be confused with the DBO-licensed Benchmark Mortgage, its parent company Ark-La-Tex Financial Services, or licensed Branch Manager Cory DePass.
The DBO urges consumers to exercise extreme caution before responding to any solicitation promoting loans or other offers. To check whether a California financial service provider is licensed in California, or to file a complaint, consumers should go to the DBO website at www.dbo.ca.gov or call 1-866-275-2677. "
